LIP-LOCK SCENES IN NAAN SIGAPPU MANITHAN TO BE DELETED ?

31/03/2014
Vishal's Naan Sigappu Manithan film has gathered huge buzz due to its impressive trailer and the movie is currently slated for release on April 14th. Now the latest buzz is that the Censor board have asked the makers to remove the lip-lock scene between Vishal & Lakshmi Menon in order to obtain a "U" Certificate.

The Lip-lock between Vishal and Lakshmi Menon has certainly added more buzz to the movie and it's now up to the makers to decide if they will delete those kissing scenes for the U-Certificate or stick with the scenes and be certified as U/A. With Tamil Nadu government granting tax exemption only for U-Certificate films, It's an absolute financial necessity these days for a movie to be rated "U".

Rohit, 40, is hosting the fifth season of Khatron Ke Khiladi - Darr Ka Blockbuster being aired from March 22. "While I know how to ensure that the contestants are always on their feet, I am going to push them to their limits. Entertainment centres are not for kids only

  • Image Credit: Clint Egbert/Gulf News
  • Lamcy Plaza’s play area. Family Entertainment Centres have to make sure they are in sync with times. The rule is that what might be a hot attraction today could start ageing pretty quickly.
Dubai: Malls and operators of ‘family entertainment centres’ (FEC) in the UAE are working on a new angle — how to get the other members of a family to come in and spend time and money at these facilities along with their kids. They intend to do so by making sure that the entertainment options available in the local mall space go through a complete makeover.
And the process of change gets repeated every three years or so.
“FECs are no longer about just rides for kids or a video games arcade — the transition to 5D interactive cinema has already taken place and more are on the way,” said Thej John Roy, regional sales and marketing manager at Saudi Arabia’s Al Hokair Group, which owns and operates the Sparky’s branded FEC in the region. It recently opened one at Al Ghurair City in Dubai.
“What this shift in entertainment options does is allow malls and FEC destinations to try and attract an older audience along with the core audience of children.
“So, instead of leaving the children at the FECs and going for their shopping or leisure interests, the parents too get to make full use of the entertainment attractions.”
Currently, FECs in the UAE pull in, on average, between 8-12 per cent of the visitor traffic that passes through a mall. The majority of these, obviously, are in the 4-14 year old demographic. By creating a more family-inclusive environment, FEC operators believe they can stretch the age band to their advantage. (In Saudi Arabia, FECs tend to have a higher percentage of visitors on average, strictly because malls there cannot offer options such as cinemas.)

Benefits for mall operators
For mall operators, there are benefits to be had from such a trend. “FECs that attract a higher percentage of “families” as opposed to just “children” do have a positive effect on overall mall footfall,” said Tim Jones, chief operating officer for Arabian Center and Lamcy Plaza. “This is because even families who have come to enjoy the diverse applications at the FEC, ultimately have come for other reasons to the mall. It is good management of the FECs along with good marketing that has drawn them there.
“A successful FEC needs to have enough attractions to draw customers on its own merit and fulfil their two-hour leisure experience at a competitive per capita investment value. For example, if a movie ticket plus popcorn and a beverage runs to Dh75, your FEC needs to keep its price for two hours of amusement in the Dh75 range to be competitive. FEC per capita usually runs between Dh50-100, depending also on the average household family income.”
While they keep an eye on keeping the cost factor in check, the other factor weighing on FECs is to make sure they are in sync with the times. The rule of the industry is that what might be a hot attraction today could start aging pretty quickly. More so, as attention spans of the main audience — children — tend to be quite short.
“It’s vital for FECs to keep coming in with new attractions or facility renewals every third or fourth year, and any failure will do so can prove detrimental” said Roy. “Within this timespan, they have to make sure they realise optimum yields from existing attractions.
“But it’s not true that the industry works on extremely thin margins — while individual rates may vary from Dh5 for a ride/video game, there are other attractions that can have a higher rate. Plus, FEC operators can also make better returns from targeting group visitors or playing host to parties or events.”
According to Jones, video games need to be “changed or rotated” at a minimum rate of one out of ten every month. As for “redemption games”, the rotation should attain a minimum rate of five per cent each month.
“Even the positioning of the games should be changed at least every two weeks, which very few top game operators put any degree of effort into,” said Jones. “Another method of delivering added value is to package your attractions into a deep-discount ride and attraction bracelet that permits a customer to go on all the rides and attractions as many times as they desire.
“Most FECs whose games ultimately don’t end up earning well and ultimately have to close down are those that don’t put nearly enough thought into their choice of games, the game layout or value to customer. Some children’s centres just add redemption games and let them sit in a room by themselves.
“Well-managed FECs are all about value. Marketing basics tell us everyone wants to think they got a bargain. The more attractions you have, the easier it is for you to deliver that perceived value.”

The BuzzPhoto Galleries Juno Awards 2014: 5 memorable moments

Amidst performances from stars both new and established, award wins both expected and surprising, and a raucous crowd at the MTS Centre in Winnipeg, a few moments stood out at the 43rd Juno Awards. Here are five of them.

Justin Bieber’s win booed

With tens of millions of Beliebers proselytizing him on Twitter, it’s little wonder that the pop megastar from Stratford, Ont., won his fourth straight Fan Choice award. It might be a tad more surprising to hear audible boos from the crowd in Winnipeg when the Olympic Women’s curling team announced the accolade.
Serena Ryder later took a moment out of her own air time to mollify the crowd.
"I really think that Justin Bieber is an amazing musician and he deserved every bit of that award because he's been working his ass off his entire life and we need to support how awesome he is," she said.
Bieber did tweet his thanks to his fans that evening.

Chris Hadfield inducts BTO

Former astronaut – and a musical aficionado himself – Chris Hadfield introduced Bachman-Turner Overdrive, who were inducted into the Canadian Music Hall of Fame. Hadfield managed to croon some of BTO’s lines himself before Randy Bachman, Fred Turner, Blair Thornton and Robin Bachman took to the stage.
"Good music is an international language, even in space,” said Hadfield, before launching BTO into the hall of fame stratosphere. He would know.
Even Hadfield’s mustachioed charm, however, couldn’t stand up to the show’s closing performance as BTO took to the stage with the Sheepdogs.

Multiple stars absent

Several of the biggest winners and stars were noticeable because of their absence:
  • Justin Bieber.
  • Drake.
  • Arcade Fire.
  • Michael BublĂ©.
They all had other engagements, despite multiple nominations.
Add to that list Robin Thicke, who pulled out of attendance and a planned performance earlier that morning due to problems with his vocal cords.
It ended up giving a wider breadth for those in attendance — including Tegan and Sara, Serena Ryder and A Tribe Called Red — to take centre stage, and their performances pulled it off without a hitch.

Arcade Fire’s thank-you message

Arcade Fire won one of the night’s highest honours, with Reflektorearning the Album of the Year award. The Montreal rockers were in Santiago, Chile, however, for a Lollapalooza festival, but took the time to send out a pre-recorded thank-you message, flanked by a mariachi band.
“Hope it's not too cold,” said front man Win Butler in jest. Winnipeggers might have shivered at the joke rather than laughed, however. Up to 30 cm of snow and high winds were expected in southern Manitoba overnight Sunday.
They also delivered a macabre, monochrome and pre-taped performance of Afterlife, making sure they weren’t to be forgotten even though they were actually a continent away from the festivities.

Backstage skits

The Juno Awards’ producers seemed to have a lot of fun with Canadians’ stereotypical self-effacing sense of humour, if the backstage skits that played throughout the show are anything to go by.
Tegan and Sara sketched out collaborations with Serena Ryder based on the frigid weather (Closer became Colder, for example). The Sheepdogs replaced the strings with brooms, taking on the Canadian Olympic women’s curling team – while also shedding their shirts and posing with Hulk Hogan-esque bravado.
The women’s curlers did double duty, as Jennifer Jones and crew sledded co-host Johnny Reid towards the stage as he lounged on a supply crate, sipping a tumbler of whisky on the rocks. We just hope that’s a Canadian blend, sir.

I am an artiste with morals and self dignity, I am not scared to speak the truth rather than being a cowered. I am extremely disappointed with so called music composer Mr. G.V.Prakash for violating my lyrical content and this should be stopped as many singers, rappers or performers keep their mouth shut when it happens. I am disappointed with G.V.Prakash for few things,

1. Called me asking to work on a full song and tune for a movie.
2. Selecting one of my brand new song to be used in the movie with changes.
3. Then telling me the Director Didn't like the song!!!!
4. Then not informing me my vocals and lyrics was used in some song.
5. When I message I get this reply, since you wanted an opportunity we have used your vocals and lyrics and made me say thank you!
6. When the song is released I see, My lyrics has been used crediting Na Muthukumar Sir (No Disrespect to you sir) and crediting my name for vocals
7. Then when I hear the song… THAT VOICE DOES NOT BELONG TO ME
8. G.V.Prakash rips my lyrics and given a courtesy credit for vocals which is not mine and it is a total disgrace to Rap Music or (Tamil Hip hop)

I feel insulted and humiliated. Being an establish composer or anyone in this caliber please do not do this type of disgusting things. I see you don't understand what hip hop or Tamil rap is, if so get to know or rather stop looking down on people who do it good. I am very disappointed and I am not going to let this go.

Dear Fans, The song "Lovely Ladies" from the movie Naan Sigappu Manidhan does not contain my vocals…. The lyric which starts "Young Kid in the Club" belongs to me without my vocals rather I be credited for lyrics and I can't take credit for Dumb Moron rapping without knowing what it is.

WHERE THE HELL IS TAMIL CINEMA GOING?
If I don't speak this will happen to upcoming artiste who dream to work for Tamil Cinema. Are you serious you come from the same family where The Legend come from?
Thank you Mr. G.V.Prakash and you have to answer this! or you can ignore!! Do Not turn the entire picture around.. please be a man!
